Figure Skating for Kids????????

Question by : Figure Skating for Kids????????
I’m thinking I might want to try figure skating. I’m 12 going on 13, have had some lessons, and I’m not half bad, when my friends and I go ice skating I’m the one who always has to hold them up, lol. I can do some jumps, just for fun, like winging it, etc. I can do that ballet sort of move where you hold your foot up behind you. I’m an ex gymnast trampoline and power tumbling, in the junior olympics, but do to injuries had to quit. Now I’m looking for a sport that’s just as thrilling as doing flips, etc. And I’m not afraid to fall or get hurt.

I’ve got skates, I just don’t know anything about the sport. Any tips or pointers, etc? That would be sooo great!

Sign up for some group lessons at your local rink. Then decide if you like it. Some people like skating recreationally, but hate lessons. Also, don’t try to teach yourself anything! You could really hurt yourself or someone else.

You’ve got a good foundation if you’re already solid on skates and you’re strong from tumbling and tramp. But that doesn’t mean it’ll be easy. As I said, sign up for some beginner lessons, and go from there.
