D?sseldorfs Christmas Market is Dazzling Mixture of Holiday Experiences: Shopping, Winter Sports, and Theme Markets

D?sseldorfs Christmas Market is Dazzling Mixture of Holiday Experiences: Shopping, Winter Sports, and Theme Markets
D?sseldorf, Germany (PRWEB) November 01, 2011

From November 17 through December 23, D?sseldorfs Old Town becomes the site of one of the most successful new concepts in traditional Christmas markets. Visitors find seven separate Christmas themes and attractions instead of one large market while strolling through the beautiful historic city center during the holiday shopping season. Moreover, visitors may come across professional skiers during the 10th FIS Cross-country Skiing Worldcup that takes place right in the city. And the citys excellent high-end shopping, primarily on shopping boulevards K?nigsallee and Shadowstrasse, adds even more options to the dazzling variety for visitors.

The new formula for the citys historic Christmas Market has been attracting thousands more to D?sseldorf each holiday season since it was introduced several years ago, including many international visitors from the US and Russia, as well as nearby Belgium, Netherlands, France, and England.

The innovative experience takes visitors through seven separate Christmas villages, each featuring a different theme, design, vendors, and attractions. Themes include: An Angels Market, with angels and thousands of lights turning the area into a sea of light; a village of artisans working on wrought-iron, glassblowing, and candlemaking; and booths that are replicas of D?sseldorfs historic town houses. In addition, there will be an extensive program of family entertainment in a heated tent, an ice rink for free skating, and many culinary treats for adults and children. D?sseldorfs luxury shopping avenue K?nigsallee, which dazzles shoppers all year long, will be ablaze with holiday cheer, thanks to thousands of lights and decorations in the giant chestnut trees that line this elegant street.

While D?sseldorf has long been a major shopping destination (elegant K?nigsallee is one of Europes premiere high-end shopping boulevards), visitors during the holiday season can add overnight stays for extended shopping and sightseeing, with many taking advantage of special hotel packages available through the citys tourism website.

Hotel specials start at 59 per person per double room and 88 for a single room, including breakfast.

The market is open November 17 December 23, 2011, from 11:00 am 8:00 pm, Sunday Thursday; 11:00 am 9:00 pm Fridays and Saturdays. The market is closed on Sunday, November 20.

Newly Launched Site Dedicated to Wide Shoes Announces Holiday Promotions

Hillsboro, NH (PRWEB) December 12, 2008

WideFeet.net, a website that offers links and resources to wide shoes, has recently implemented additional discounts to apply to their holiday inventory.

WideFeet.net was established in October 2008 by Susan Hutchinson. Hutchinson, who takes a size 5 in a triple E width, has had difficulty her entire life finding shoes that fit her feet correctly. Knowing how frustrating and difficult it can be for people with wide feet, she decided to focus her inventory exclusively on wide shoes.

“I spent all of school in the same style of shoe, because there wasn’t any variety in wide shoes,” said Hutchinson. “Wide feet run in my family, so I know firsthand how hard it can be to find stylish, affordable shoes that fit comfortably.”

Implementing their holiday promotions and products, the site has recently announced a new series of links offering discounts on holiday-themed and non-holiday themed shoes.

“All the limited time holiday discounts are on the ‘Special Promotions’ page of the site,” said Hutchinson. “There’s everything from coupon codes to free products that accompany certain purchases.”

In addition to the new promotions, the site has also announced the launch of a company blog in early November 2008. Located at http://www.WideFeetWoos.com, the site will provide informational posts related to any and all issues surrounding wide shoes and wide feet.

“The blog will be a great place to share tips about how to find wide shoes,” said Hutchinson. “Wide feet are just that–they’re wide feet. And I’m trying to stay targeted to that market as best I can with both the site and the blog.”

The blog is the latest tool meant to ease her customers’ search for wide shoes.

“This site and the blog are all about providing stylish, wide shoes, because these can be difficult to find in physical stores,” said Hutchinson. “I do my best to direct you to a variety of stores and companies with high quality, reasonably priced wide shoes. More than anything, we strive for variety. We want you to be comfortable in dress shoes, sports, shoes, work boots, and whatever else you need.”

About Wide Feet:

Launched in October 2008 by Susan Hutchinson, WideFeet.net carries a variety of shoes specially tailored to the wide foot. In the future, the site plans to incorporate wide soccer cleats, roller skates, ice skates, and other wide sports shoes.
